U.S. Rep. Rick Nolan doesn’t flinch, doesn’t even hesitate, when asked his top priority right now.
“(Getting) the Iron Range community and business interests back on track,” the congressman said Friday in an exclusive interview with the News Tribune editorial board.
“And it’s not just about 500 or a thousand or 2,000 jobs on the Iron Range. It’s about our whole national economy. It’s about our national security. It’s about our way of life,” Nolan said. “Iron ore and all the precious metals, holy cow, they’re everywhere. We have to have them. They’re in medicine. They’re in our roads. They’re in our bridges. They’re in our eyeglasses. They’re in the construction of our buildings. They’re in our iPads. They’re in our electrical grid. They’re in our electrical communication systems. They’re in all of our appliances.
