More than a dozen golden shovels turned the first materials at the future location of Bruce Mine Park on Tuesday.
A groundbreaking ceremony at the site was attended by an estimated 55 or so people, including elected officials from the City of Chisholm, State of Minnesota, St. Louis County and Balkan Township.
The site is near the Bruce Mine headframe along Highway 169, just east of Chisholm.
